Linux servers in the same Remedion portal as Windows.
Ubuntu and Debian agents bring host inventory, apt patching, Vuls CVE scanning, certificates, hardening, bash scripts, and LUKS visibility into one multi-client console—without a separate Linux toolchain.
Linux agent features
Built for apt estates—operated like the rest of the fleet.
The Linux agent mirrors the Windows job contract: poll for allowlisted work, heartbeat while running, and post results. Operators stay in the portal for mixed Windows and Linux clients.
Host & package inventory
Hostname, OS release, IPs, kernel, firewall, reboot-pending, Canonical Livepatch, and dpkg/apt software inventory—synced into the same asset model as Windows.
Apt patching & patch policies
Queue package upgrades, installs, and uninstalls from the portal. Scheduled patch policies can apply OS security updates and reboot with a short warning when required.
Vuls vulnerability scanning
Agent-driven Vuls server-mode scans ingest CVEs into Remedion, with Ubuntu security triage to separate actionable fixes from deferred noise.
CE hardening on Linux
Probe and remediate Linux hardening controls from the portal—alongside Windows baselines—so mixed estates share one readiness workflow.
TLS certificate lifecycle
Inventory certificates in use on Linux servers, renew and deploy where supported, and track expiry next to Windows bindings.
Services, scripts & remote shell
Collect systemd services and listening ports, run approved bash script packages, and use an outbound live shell when operators need interactive access—no inbound SSH.
LUKS disk encryption visibility
See LUKS protection status on Linux volumes in the same encryption views used for BitLocker on Windows.
Asset EOL / EOS outlook
Map Ubuntu and RHEL release support windows onto live inventory so lifecycle risk is visible before standard support ends.
Supported Linux versions
Where the agent runs—and what lifecycle outlook covers.
Endpoint agent support is Ubuntu/Debian-first (dpkg/apt, x86_64). Asset EOL outlook also tracks RHEL releases so mixed estates still see support windows in one place.
| Distribution | Versions | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ubuntu LTS | 20.04, 22.04, 24.04 | Supported | Primary Linux agent target (dpkg/apt). x86_64. |
| Debian | 11 (Bullseye), 12 (Bookworm) | Supported | Same apt-based agent path as Ubuntu. |
| Ubuntu Server (Gateway appliance) | 22.04, 24.04, 26.04 LTS | Gateway appliance | On-prem gateway / relay + optional GVM scans—not the endpoint agent. |
| Red Hat Enterprise Linux | 7, 8, 9 | Lifecycle outlook | EOL/EOS dates mapped from inventory; endpoint agent is Ubuntu/Debian-first today. |

Windows vs Linux
One portal. Platform-aware agents.
Shared inventory, patching, certificates, scripts, and hardening—plus Windows-first controls where the OS requires them. See Windows and Linux for the full feature lists.
